When I switch from automatic to manuel exposure on the 1012s-xl, the dial will only turn so far on teh manuel - and its not far, at all. I'm stuck with manual exposure between f1.2 and f1.4

    Any ideas whats wrong?

While I'm not familiar with your camera, if the manual dial involves geared teeth (as opposed your gnashed teeth), the gears may have somehow slipped out of the factory setting and need to be reset.
Didn't someone just acquire one of these?

This could be way out there, but do you have fresh batteries in the camera? If my Nizo's batteries are down I also can't get the needle to move through the whole f/stop scale. I can't even get my Elmo 612 S-XL to switch on if the batteries are down. Just a thought.

I just replaced the batterys two or three days ago.. I guess the gear might have come loose, I don't know. What I've found is that I can stop the automatic exposure at any point, I just can't fine tune it lik eI'm supposed tobe able to, and WAS able to do before. So strange...
